We will be in Chemnitz, Germany (venue: Kieselstein) on March 22.

Twoj Blues, the award-winning Polish blues quarterly, has chosen "Give Your Face a Rest", from Wanda's 2008 album 'Hold What You Got', for inclusion on a blues compilation CD, to be given away to subscribers of the magazine and a few hundred more lucky media types in eastern Europe. The song, penned by Gary Erwin (Shrimp City Slim), transcends language barriers with its 'shut yo mouth' message. Dziekuje bardzo, Twoj Blues!

Wanda and the Shrimp City Slim band (SCS, keys; Silent Eddie Phllips, guitar; LaMont Garner, drums) will tour in eastern Europe March 9-25. Dates and venues at 'Calendar'.

An open message to promoters and agents: Wanda Johnson and her USA band are available for dates in Europe, Asia, in 2012. We expect to be in Poland/Czech Republic/Slovakia March 8-25 and interested in offers other periods in the year. Contact: emusic@mindspring.com

Noted Upstate SC guitarist/singer/keyboardist Rickey Godfrey (known in blues/shag/Southern rock circles) is covering "Allergic to Mink" (from Wanda's 2008 album HOLD WHAT YOU GOT) on his new CD "Nasty Man" due out Oct/Nov everywhere! A different arrangement and well worth looking for..thanks RG!

Friends in Greenville: Brown Street Club has us down as playing Fri Sept 24 but we never confirmed or contracted this show with them. Discovering the erroneous listing a couple of days ago, we contacted them immediately about their mistake but, to date, their website shows us. Sorry if you made the trip...not our doing.

Some months ago, we recorded a show in Clemson, SC with the Wisconsin NPR gang for the nationally-broadcast show. Seems they re-ran it today (folks in Arkansas and Detroit and elsewhere wrote saying they heard it). NICE! www.notmuch.com is the site for the radio show.

It's been a busy year...thanks to everyone for the support. Overseas work in 2009 included a stint at the Hotel Meridien in Paris, France; eleven shows at MacauSoul in Macau, SAR (China), and eighteen concerts in Poland & the Czech Republic. Taking a breather now and planning next year. Hope to see you all soon!

Krakow tonight, Chorzow tomorrow and then into the Czech Republic for four gigs and home on August 2. The tour has been great...super well-organized & thanks again to our friends Delta Agency. See y'all in Greenville and Anderson next week!
